What is a Redemptorist Associates Group?

  • An association of Redemptorists, co-workers and friends who gather regularly to share Redemptorist Spirituality, to listen, to explore, to reflect, to pray, and to talk together about various aspect of the Redemptorist story and faith & life issues.
  • The commitment of those taking part is simply to attend the regular gatherings organised by the local Redemptorist Associates Group.associates_booklet_closeup
Why Have Redemptorist Associates?
  • Lay people and Redemptorists expressed a desire for some closer formal association between them that would allow for a mutual sharing and enrichment.
  • In response to a contemporary Redemptorist Priority that urges a greater sharing of the Redemptorist charisma and spirituality with lay people.
  • Arising from the theological basis of shared priesthood/mission of all the baptised and its understanding of the different roles of the ordained and co-ministers in ministry.

Who can be involved?
•The Redemptorist Associates Group is open to all Redemptorists, co-workers (whether full, part-time or voluntary) and to all who are already associated with Redemptorists e.g. families, friends of individual Redemptorist, people who worship in our churches, former Redemptorist priests, brothers or students.

What Happens at a Redemptorist Associates Gathering?

It will involve some combination of:

  • Prayer.
  • Engage with some aspect of faith, spirituality and mission in contemporary society with a particular focus on Redemptorist spirituality and mission.
  • Discussion/conversation.
  • Social time.
