Fr. Brendan Kelly C.Ss.R., The New Secretary General of the Congregation

Fr. Michael Brehl, CSsR, Superior General of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, nominated Fr. Brendan Kelly as the new Secretary General of the Congregation. The appointment will take effect from the 1st of January, 2015. Fr. Kelly is currently serving as the Vice-secretary General of the Congregation.

 

Fr. Brendan Kelly

 

Fr. Kelly is a confrere of the Dublin Province. He was born in Saul, Co Down, Northern Ireland in 1959. After completing his secondary education in Downpatrick, he joined the Congregation in 1978, taking up studies at University College, Galway. He was professed in 1982 and ordained in 1987. After ordination he was assigned to the then Vice-province of Cebu where he worked in various ministries including missions, retreats, administration and teaching, until 2011 when he was requested to join the staff of the Secretary General’s Office in Rome.
