“Lord, we pray for the young people of our Church, our country, our world. So many young people have so much to offer, so many gifts, so many fresh ideas. They have so much vigour and enthusiasm. Yet, they are faced with all kinds of pressures, demands and temptations. Help us to appreciate them and all that they have to offer. Guide all of them who feel a call to the religious life or priesthood. Help all of us to encourage them in their discernment of such a call. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

“Your words are spirit, Lord, and they are life. You have the message of eternal life.’ Lord, we need your Word. We cannot live without your life, given to us in the Eucharist. If we do not have people to proclaim your Word and make you present in the Eucharist, Lord to whom shall we go? Please send us labourers to proclaim your Kingdom of love, peace and justice. Please send us labourers to celebrate the Eucharist with us, so that we may have your life in us.

Through the power of your Spirit, enlighten and inspire many young men and women of our time to heed your invitation to follow you in the priesthood and religious life. Give them the courage and the grace to surrender themselves completely to your service. Help them to bring your gifts of love, hope and salvation to all those who await their generous and wholehearted ‘yes’ to your call.

Mary, our Blessed Mother, intercede for all those who feel called to make a total dedication of their lives to the person and work of your Son. Fill them with a spirit of zeal and generosity. Let your motherly tenderness and kindness be their strength and support as they make this act of total self-giving in bringing the “Good News” to the society and world in which we lie. Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for us. Amen.”

“Lord, the Redemptorists are desperate. They’re dwindling away. Have mercy on them. I know you can go on without the Redemptorists, but many of your people still need dedicated people to continue your bounteous redemption. Have pity on them.”

“Holy Spirit, enlighten the minds of young men and women searching for their calling in life. Fill their hearts with enthusiasm and courage to listen to your inspirations. Let no one force them to make so important a decision. Give each one generosity to follow your will and realise how much good can be done for others by their example. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

“Lord of the vineyard, you know what is best for all humankind. At present the labourers are few. For us mortals, we see little hope for vocations – but you know what is best and what we need. Inspire generous young men and women to bring the Good News of salvation to others. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

“Lord, how will your people hear the good news unless someone is sent to them? We pray with your Son Jesus – send labourers into your harvest. Inspire men and women to respond generously to your call. Fill them with zeal for your kingdom and genuine love for your people, so that your word may bring light to a darkened world and life and love to a world lost in hatred and violence. This prayer we make through Jesus who is your Son and lives with you and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.”

“Lord, in your goodness, give new life to our Redemptorist family with young men whom You choose to keep alive and give new impetus to the grace of our Congregation. May they have the enthusiasm and energy to meet the urgent needs of our time. Grant this through Christ Our Lord.”
