Scala, Cork:
Scala Retreat and Conference centre is situated on the banks of the river Lee in Blackrock, Cork. It has been recently developed as a dedicated centre for Redemptorist youth ministry. As a team of Redemptorists and lay people, we engage with young people through school retreats, mentor and leadership training and community outreach programmes. Each year over 3,000 young people come on retreat s and mentor training. This year 200 TY students will be trained as Meitheal Team members in 20 schools to create better school environments through peer ministry. Scala outreach programmes provide opportunities for young people to explore important issues such as mental health, develop skills and gifts and put them at the service of the wider community through volunteering and exposure programmes. Clonard Belfast:
Clonard monastery, famous for its role in the peace process, is situated in West Belfast. The Youth Ministry Team at Clonard in Belfast works in partnership with the Redemptorist community to create a centre of outreach and welcome, of faith and wisdom, where young people can find the freedom to discover the plentiful redemption of Jesus. We create an environment that will attract and reach out to those who feel alienated from belief or from the church. Clonard has an extensive outreach to young people through school retreats, youth missions, the summer outreach programme that hosts community events for young people and leadership and faith development programmes.
